Main Raiders
Auxiliary/Part-Time Raiders
Recruits/Alts
Applicants/Friends and Family/Shard

To bid on loot, raid members will send tells identifying the gear as either an UP (the gear is better for your main spec than what you are wearing right now), as a SIDE GRADE (the gear is a use sometime piece or an up for a dual spec) or as a PASS TO ALL (you would like the gear but only over a shard and are passing to all others in the raid). The officer will then go through the tells and look first to the tier then to whether the request is an UP request or a SIDE GRADE request. UP tells will have priority and the gear's distribution will be determined by DKP among the top tier UP tells, then if none, the SIDE GRADE tells, then if none the next tier until there is only a pass to all tell or a shard left.

In addition, the officers may use discretion in asking main raiders to pass some pieces to lower tiers on a case by case basis depending on the ultimate utility to the raid from the distribution of loot. We have never had a problem with the passing aspect of the loot system and expect our members to continue to act in the responsible fashion they have demonstrated in the past.

DKP for loot will be determined by whether a player has already picked up a piece for that slot. The first piece of gear picked up in any gear slot will be charged full DKP price (which is equal to the iLvl of the item rounded up to the next increment of 5). The second piece of gear, and any other piece thereafter, will be charged 25% of the full price of the item. Rings, trinkets and weapons/shields will all count as 1 gear slot; ranged weapons will be a separate gear slot. That is, once you pick up your first ring, your second is at 25% of full price. Players should indicate in the tells whether this is the first piece or second piece of gear you have received for that slot. If you do not identify the first/other piece of gear you have received for that slot, you will be charged full price.

In addition to tiering and the elimination of OS gear, we will also be placing a "soft" cap on the accumulation of DKP at 600 DPK. While players may accumulate DKP above 600, any DKP over 600 will not be considered in prioritizing distribution of loot. For example, a member at 601 DKP and 2500 DKP will be considered tied for DKP purposes and if both put in a tell on loot they will either need to determine distribution between themselves or roll for the item. The "soft" cap is intended to encourage people to evenly take loot. You should only begin to experience a negative effect of this system if you are more than two pieces of gear behind the rest of the guild. The Officers may adjust this DKP soft cap number as progression dictates to achieve this goal.
